Hello 2009

Well we have finally made it past the holiday season and things are slowly getting back to normal around here. We had quite a few busy weeks all in a row there in December. The Sunday before Christmas Morgan celebrated her baptism. She was especially excited because not only was Uncle Scotty in town but she also had new shoes to wear. I think she enjoyed the shoes a bit more but hey, whatever keeps 'em quiet in church. Christmas Eve Morgan got her first taste at opening presents with Gram and Great Grandmom and then it was back to church that night. Morgan is very holy. The next day Morgan was very happy to see that Santa had stopped by our house and decided that of everyone living in the house, apparently Morgan deserved most of the presents. And she's only been here for part of the year. I can't wait to see what Santa brings after a full year of her being here. But as we later discovered that afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's house, that was apparently only a warm up and Santa had even more toys (and a lot of clothes) waiting at their house. Of course considering Morgan was asleep and I was opening up all of her presents I think I should be allowed to keep most of them. But wait, we're not done yet. The next day we were once again visiting family over at Aunt Donna and Uncle Terry's house since our cousins were in town from Virginia to open presents. By this point Morgan decided she had enough and we ended up leaving early. Good thing I had 2 weeks off from work because we needed that extra week to recover!

So Morgan has been enjoying playing with all of her presents this past month. And one special present in particular has kept us busy the last 2 Saturdays.

Yes, Morgan has started swim lessons. And so far I'm happy to say that she takes after her daddy in the pool as opposed to mommy. She does very well floating and this past lesson even managed to start kicking her legs a little bit. By the end of the session we're expecting her to be doing laps. Of course this just means that Colby will have a new swim buddy the next time we go to the beach.
